Bio

My name is Ms. Lauren Stephens, and I am so excited to be teaching your second graders this year. It is going to be a wonderful year. I am 26 years old and graduated from the University of Mississippi. I have lived in Desoto County my whole life and have always wanted to teach in this district. I have 2 dogs; Cooper and Heidi. I have 2 sisters; Danielle and Rachel and a niece named Hadleigh. Vacationing with my family and reading books by my favorite authors are two of my favorite things to do. I have a love for teaching and learning and hope to be an inspiration to each and every one of my students this year! 2nd grade is going to rock!!

Our district is monitoring daily and will make decisions on a week to week basis! The county will reassess the situation on April 17th, 2020.

Please make sure your child is completing the distance learning packet for 2nd grade. It is on the page with all of the teachers names. If you have any questions/concerns, you can also contact me. There are charts you can refer to in the documents part of the page that may help!

Please remember that Desoto County School is offering lunch and breakfast to all school aged children from the ages of 1-19. There are 3 locations: Horn Lake Intermediate-Southaven Intermediate- and Chickasaw Elementary. It is a drive-thru service but the students must be with you to receive lunch and breakfast (for the next day). This service is between 10am-12 pm Monday-Friday!

Here are some helpful links to keep your child working through this time:
